  • 1 Piece of SASKO More Slices White Bread / SASKO Low GI All-in-one White Bread
  • 250ml Milk
  • 2Tbsp Oil
  • 2 small/1½ large Onions (chopped)
  • 2Tbsp Garlic & ginger paste
  • ½tsp Salt
  • 1Tbsp Sugar
  • 1tsp Turmeric
  • 1Tbsp Medium strength curry powder
  • 1Tbsp Garam masala
  • 500g Mince
  • 1Tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2Tbsp Apricot chutney
  • 1Tbsp White vinegar
  • 60ml Raisins (optional)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • Rice and chutney to serve
  • 1 Piece of More Slices White Bread / Low GI Whole Wheat Brown Bread
  • 8.5 fluid oz. Milk
  • 2tbsp Oil
  • 2 Small/1 ½ large onions (chopped)
  • 2tbsp Garlic & ginger paste
  • ½tsp Salt
  • 1tbsp Sugar
  • 1tsp Turmeric
  • 1tbsp Medium strength curry powder
  • 1tbsp Garam masala
  • 17.5 oz. Mince
  • 1tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 2tbsp Apricot chutney
  • 1tbsp White vinegar
  • 2.04 oz. Raisins (optional)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 Bay leaves
  • Rice and chutney to serve

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C
  2. Pour the milk into a bowl and put the piece of SASKO Everyday Bread /SASKO Low GI White bread into the milk to soak
  3. Put a large saucepan on medium heat
  4. Drizzle in oil and fry the onions until translucent (about 5 mins)
  5. Add the garlic and ginger, salt, sugar and all of the spices and fry for a minute or two
  6. Add the mince and fry until browned (about 5-8mins)
  7. Squeeze excess milk from the SASKO Everyday Bread /SASKO Low GI White Bread Keeping left over milk aside for later)
  8. Break apart and add to the mince along with the tomato paste, chutney, vinegar and raisins
  9. Simmer for 15 mins to reduce
  10. Remove from the stove and transfer to a small oven proof dish
  11. Stir together remaining milk and eggs and pour over the mince
  12. Top with Bay leaves and bake in the oven for approx 35 minutes until the topping is set and just browned
  13. Serve with rice and chutney
