For the casserole:
  • 1 loaf SASKO PREMIUM SLICED WHITE BREAD, cut into cubes
  • 8 extra large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 bananas, sliced
For the crumble:
  • 1 1/2 cups SASKO All Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 loaf SASKO PREMIUM SLICED WHITE BREAD, cut into cubes
  • 8 extra large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted

  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 bananas, sliced
For the crumble:
  • 1 1/2 cups SASKO All Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Grease an oven proof dish with non-stick spray and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, brown sugar, butter, vanilla extract and cinnamon.
  4. Add the SASKO PREMIUM SLICED WHITE BREAD and banana to the egg mixture and combine until all the bread is coated.
  5. Place the mixture into the greased baking dish and set aside.
  6. To make the crumble, place the SASKO ALL PURPOSE FLOUR, brown sugar and salt in a bowl.
  7. Add the butter and work through the mixture with your hands to create big clumps of dough.
  8. Place the crumble in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
  9. Top the casserole with the crumble and bake for 30 – 35 minutes.
